Veteran Christopher Stephens entered Active Duty from the Army National Guard at Anderson, IN on January 25, 2005 and served honorably in Iraq for one year and ﬁve months. He served in combat and received the Combat Action Badge along with the Iraq Campaign Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
He met with DVOP Oliver on October 23, 2014. He was referred to DVOP by Senior Services Ofﬁcer Frank Morrow of the Clermont County Veteran’s Services Commission. He was in arrearage of $1800 for his child support. He had a mortgage that was due. Veteran's only income was his 40% VA disability compensation for PTSD and tinnitus.
Veteran received resume writing and job searching assistance from DVOP. DVOP also referred him to Clermont County Department of Job and Family Services for applying and receiving SNAP and OWF (Cash).
Job Development Contacts and referrals were provided by DVOP and also provided assistance by submitting veteran's resume to potential employers. Veteran was assisted by DVOP in securing a position as a Freight Conductor with CSX Railroad. Veteran is currently away for training in Atlanta, GA for that position. Once Training is complete, he will begin earning $21.49 an hour. He is very appreciative and extremely happy for all the assistance and the opportunities given him.
